Childcare & Early Education Program
Give the youngest children in Arusha the nurturing, learning, and care
they deserve — and experience one of the most rewarding volunteer programs
in East Africa.
Overview
The first five years of a child’s life shape everything that follows their
ability to learn, connect, and grow into confident individuals. Yet in many
communities across Arusha, Tanzania, daycare centres and kindergartens are
understaffed, under-resourced, and overwhelmed.
Hub for Impact’s Childcare & Early Education volunteer program places volunteers directly inside local daycare centres and kindergartens in Arusha working alongside Tanzanian caregivers to give children aged 0–6 the individual attention, stimulation, and care they need to thrive.
No childcare qualification or prior experience is required. What matters most is warmth, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference at the
most foundational stage of a child’s life.
As a Childcare & Early Education volunteer in Arusha you will:

Assist local caregivers with daily routines including feeding, hygiene, and nap times

Lead play-based learning activities including songs, games, and storytelling sessions

Support early literacy and numeracy through creative games and activities

Provide one-on-one attention to children who need extra support and care

Organise outdoor play, physical activities, and arts and crafts sessions

Help create simple learning materials
